Volunteering with Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs is a rewarding way to make a real difference for people with disabilities. Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization, dedicating their time and skills to support our mission.
Volunteering with K4Paws offers hands-on experience and opportunities to contribute your skills and learn new ones. Our volunteers do many tasks, from office work and event planning to dog training and public outreach. Their hours of dedication reflect their generosity and belief in the power of service dogs to change lives.
Whether you have a few hours a week, every two weeks, or just once in a while, we can use your help.
Fundraising
From planning and organizing fundraising initiatives to selling tickets and helping at bottle drives, volunteers make it possible to raise the funds provide life-changing service dogs to people who need them. The cost of each service dog over its lifetime is $20,000-$25,000 and we receive no government funding, so fundraising is a critical part of what we do.
Event Support
We often need volunteers to help set up for events, greet guests, take tickets, cook and/or serve food, clean up, etc. Volunteers are essential for the success of our events and for enhancing the experience for all participants.
Puppy Sitting
Volunteer puppy sitters provide relief for our puppy raisers. This might be for a few days, a weekend or longer, depending on the situation. Puppy sitters must have experience with dogs. Experience with a puppy raising program is helpful but not necessary.
Puppy Raising
We need volunteer puppy raisers in Kingston and Ottawa. Please visit our Puppy Raising page for details.
