My name is Cheryl Reid and my daughter Meg recently welcomed her beautiful Service Dog Macy into her life, her heart and our home! We are eternally grateful and very committed to coming up with different ways to show our support. I have decided to organize this online shopping fundraiser as I have been a devoted online shopper since our family found ourselves posted to Oromocto, New Brunswick over 15 years ago. With three young children and one car I used to joke that there was nothing that I needed bad enough to take all three kids out shopping : ) Joking aside, having talked to some K4Paws recipient members I know that with the crowds it can be very difficult for you to visit stores and that makes online shopping a terrific option. Better still if it will benefit this incredible organization I am sure you are all for it!

What is this all about?
This fundraiser is for those who are already shopping online but it may also appeal to others who regularly buy gift cards and it may even motivate those who have been thinking of trying online shopping to give it a go. In all there are 200+ companies that are willing to pay cashback on your purchases when you shop with them through the FlipGive website. With every purchase that you make from these participating retailers K4Paws will earn a percentage back in cash. Among the 200+ Brands are Amazon, Canadian Tire, Mark’s Work Wear-house, Gap, Nike, Under Amor and more. You may also be interested in purchasing gift cards from many of the companies such as Air Canada, Esso, Jack Astor’s and Starbucks. Perhaps you are a fan of the Ultimate Dining Gift cards that can be used at multiple restaurants such as Swiss Chalet, Harveys, East Side Mario’s, New York Fries + more. A purchase of one of these particular gift cards will earn a whopping 7% cash back.

How do you get started?
Send an email to me at Cheryl.Reid@bell.net and tell me which team you will be fundraising for. (See the link below for teams that are working to reach their fundraising goal of $20,000). Once I have your email address I will send you an invite with a link that will allow you to join our FlipGive Group Page and become a team member. You will need to create a FlipGive account but it is super easy and if you have any trouble I am here to help.

What to do next?
Hmmm …..Other than start shopping?
Well, once you are signed in to your new account you can use the share button at the top of the screen on the right. It is three dots connected by two lines. This will allow you to Tweet, post on Facebook or email a link that your friends and family can use to shop or buy Gift Cards that will earn us cash back as well. Their earned cash back amounts will be credited to you and to your chosen team. Your friends and family do not have to sign up for an account they just have to follow the link and shop.
I have set our goal at $2,500 which may seem ambitious but I have given us until September 2nd and between the Kingston 4 Paws family and their friends and family I believe that we can do it!
Right now there is a promotion for new members that pays a $5 bonus when you join and purchase a gift card. I started us off by purchasing a $25 Starbucks card that I was easily able to transfer to my Starbucks Card Account. With this purchase I earned $0.50 plus the $5 bonus. Additionally as I was referred to FlipGive by my sister we will receive another $40. Periodically FlipGive will email us offers with promotions that will earn us extra money. They recently offered a $10 bonus for any team member who shopped during the Family Day Weekend. I am sure that between now the September longer weekend there will be many to come.
As part of our Fundraiser there will be prizes given out (gift cards, of course!)
The following prizes will be awarded to Participating members (excluding me)
- The team member who raises the most money by April 1 will receive a $25 Gift Card of your choice!
- the team member who raises the most money by Sept. 2 will receive a $75 gift card of your choice!
- There will be a random draw from the names of all the participating members on May 1, June 1, July 1 and August 1! The winners will receive a $25 Gift Card of their choice!
(Please note: members must have at least a balance of $5 to qualify for this draw).
